It's about time I do this. I know I will never be able to catch up as the final episode (if I'm not mistaken) would be out by next week. I still do not know what is going to happen next and I do not wish to be spoiled. So, I hereby ask you all, my readers, not to leave comments containing spoilers of the episodes. I would be glad if you people would. I already know what's going to happen to Akiko in the coming episodes and I don't want to know more.This episode is the start of the Shiori arc where Yuuichi had started to go out with her. Despite the cheerful atmosphere, Yuuichi realised a few more things about Shiori's sickness and how her sister reacted to it. In this episode also, Ayu seemed to have some sort of reaction towards Akiko-san who had fallen sick.Behind the cut are heavy images of Shiori. Be warned. >D The bandage looks a lot like a turban. She looks a lot like Ali Baba now. Again, is Sayuri shaved bald on the head? The layout of the room reminded me of the room under the stairs slept by Harry Potter. =\Obviously not edible. However, I'm still impressed by the fact that the colour of the burnt toast is spreaded equally. Brown. She's only taking the opportunity to take advantage of Yuuichi's unusual kindness.PlotThis episode starts with Nayuki reaching home, only to know that both Ayu and Yuuichi weren’t there. Akiko-san told her daughter that the two had gone to the hospital to visit a friend.At the hospital, Yuuichi and Ayu visited Mai and Sayuri who were warded in the same room. Yuuichi got to know that Mai had told Sayuri the whole story. Sayuri felt that she had been useless all the while but Yuuichi tried to cheer her up by saying that it’s all over and that she had not to worry. Sayuri told Yuuichi that she had made a false statement to the police, saying that she was attacked by a bear. When Sayuri asked about what happened to the school, Yuuichi simply said that there were damages inflicted on the school building, but it didn’t affected the classes much. Everyone thought that some rascals did the damages. Ayu added that there’s no way Mai could do all the damages by herself. Looking at Mai, Mai said that she can be discharged from the hospital by spring. However, she’ll miss the graduation ceremony by then, she said. Sayuri then told Yuuchi not to worry about them too much as Mai’s mother and her father would visit them oftenly. Before leaving the ward, Yuuichi told Mai to have more rest as she really needs it. Again, Yuuichi commented that Mai’s really amazing for carrying the burdens without running away. Mai’s facial expression as she said that the person who’s running away is the person next to him, and that since she will not be having her power for sometime, she wouldn’t be able to help. Outside the ward, Yuuichi and Ayu met with Shiori who was standing in front of the pharmacy counter waiting for her medicines. The last time the three were together was the day Yuuichi when reached town. Ayu introduced herself to Shiori, and Shiori did the same too. Suddenly, Shiori’s doctor appeared from behind, asking whether she had got her medicine. The doctor happened to have some sort of reaction when she noticed Ayu. Ayu asked about Shiori and he told her that Shiori has common cold, according to herself...Kaori had awakened from her sleep. After changing into her school uniform, she promptly sat down on the dining table for breakfast. However, she wasn’t in the mood. She stood up and started to leave the house. Kaori’s mother tried to advise her on something, but she couldn’t finish what she wanted to say.At the Minase’s, Yuuichi was ready to go to school. Breakfast wasn’t served since Akiko-san was still asleep that day. Ayu decided to prepare breakfast instead. However, since the ‘food’ which she prepared wasn’t actually edible (who would put weird stuffs into their mouths?), Yuuichi decided to go on to school and have something else on the way. Having walked a few steps away from the house, Ayu came running towards Yuuichi, saying that Akiko-san is becoming... like her mother! Yuuichi then rushed back with Ayu, only to see a weak Akiko-san sitting by a table saying that she is fine and that she only had a slight fever. Akiko decided to have a rest for that day, and that Ayu is going to look after her. At school, Yuuichi told Nayuki about her mother’s condition. Yuuichi also expressed his concerns for Ayu as well. They decided to call back home. Ayu answered the call. Yuuichi was told that Akiko-san’s fever had dropped but there wasn’t any medicine and she wanted to go buy some but she didn’t know where to find a drug store. Yuuichi’s head was empty and this was when Nayuki took over the phone. She told Ayu that there’s a drug store in the shopping district. They went back to class as the break was over. However, they weren’t able to concentrate in the class. After class, Yuuichi and Nayuki made another phone call back home to check on Ayu. Ayu did managed to buy some medicine, but then the medicine’s description was to take it after food. Nayuki then taught Ayu how to prepare some porridge using the leftover rice they had a day before. During lunch time, Yuuichi went out to the courtyard to see Shiori. He told her about Akiko and that Nayuki was then on the phone with Ayu. He couldn’t help out much even if he were there. Shiori then felt sorry that Yuuichi had to spend his time with her. Rather than making negative response, Yuuichi then said, “Tomorrow’s Sunday, but do you have time? Remember I said let’s hang out? If you want I’ll tag along you the whole day.” After school, Yuuichi went ahead of Nayuki who had to leave a message to her coach and left for home. Upon reaching home, Piro the cat walked towards the door welcoming Yuuichi back. Yuuichi had had a look at Akiko-san who had awakened in her room. Ayu was sleeping besides her bed. Akiko seemed to have recovered.The next day, Yuuichi and Shiori went down to the shopping district as promised. Yuuichi told Shiori Akiko’s condition and that she’ll get well soon. Yuuichi then said that Shiori herself should get well soon so that she can return to school. Shiori was holding a sketchbook and had offered to do a sketch using Yuuichi as a model. However, she almost changed her mind and caused Yuuichi to “Uguu~”. Finally, they arrived in front of an arcade. Shiori said that she had never been into one and Yuuichi brought her in. Shiori played the ‘whacking’ game but in the end, she missed each and every mole which came out from the machine. It was the first time Yuuichi saw someone getting zero points. Shiori then used her trademark “I hate people who say such things”.The two then walked by the alley where they first met with each other. Yuuichi remembered, at that time, Ayu bumped into a tree and Shiori was covered in snow. Shiori said that it was a very important memory to her. Although in Yuuichi’s opinion, it happened not long ago that it couldn’t be categorized as a memory, Shiori insisited that time is irrelevant to memories and that what matters was how important the moment is to a person. Yuuichi and Ayu were so funny that she kept laughing when she got home until she cried, she said. They reached a place, a place with nobody due to the snow. Shiori squat down and made a snowball out of the snow on the ground and hurled it at Yuuichi. Yuuichi gave a grin and said that she had declared a war and started to stockpile snowballs. However, he missed each and every snowball he threw at Shiori while each and every snowball that Shiori threw actually hit! :OThey stopped by a hawker stall as Yuuichi got himself some noodles and Shiori an ice-cream. They had their meal under a shady tree. After that, they made a snowman. Now, how should I describe it? Less than 10 meters, that’s for sure. No eyes, no nose, no hands, no magician cap, and won’t melt under the sun. =\After that, they sat by the fountain and Shiori started to draw Yuuichi in her sketch book. After she had done her drawing, Yuuichi took it away from her despite her not wanting him to see it in embarrassment. Yuuichi decided to keep the drawing, saying that he’s happy enough that she drew him. Shiori happily nodded.Time flies when they’re having fun, and the sun started to set. However, Yuuichi said that he would accompany her as long as time allows since he had nothing else to do that day. Shiori then said that she wanted to go somewhere and wanted Yuuichi to follow her.They went to school. It had been sometime since Shiori wore indoor shoes. They went into Shiori’s class as Shiori went to the seat she sat on the first day of the first semester. However, since she wasn’t healthy, she became absent ever since she collapsed after the school opening ceremony. Yuuichi had known about it since a classmate of Shiori once approached him and told him about it. Shiori continued as she said that the doctor advised her against going to school. Shiori had always had a dream, of going to the same school as her elder sister, having lunch together at the courtyard, and then going home together while talking about what happened that day. Yuuichi realised that Shiori’s sickness is not common cold. Shiori then confessed that her health had been poor ever since she was born, so she can’t attend class everyday. She then appoligized to Yuuichi.As Yuuichi reached home, he saw Nayuki preparing some porridge for her sick mother. The phone rang as he answered it. It was Kaori. She wanted to talk with Yuuichi and had asked him out to school.Upon arriving at school, Yuuichi saw Kaori under the shades. With a deep, slow tone, she told Yuuichi that Shiori is her little sister. She told him that it would be Shiori’s birthday in a week. However, doctors predict that she’ll not live until then. She was going to die soon. Kaori had avoided going near to Shiori, because she knew that her sister would one day disappear right in front of her. She would take it as if she didn’t have a sister. Her cheeks started to roll tears as she said that if it means so much pain, she’d rather not have a sister at all. “What was she born for?” she asked as she held onto Yuuichi as more tears started to roll. Snow continued to fall as this episode came to an end.
