Sentai Filmworks will be releasing 24-episode sci-fi/comedy series Needless through Section23 Films, with the first of two half-season sets set for release on both DVD and Blu-ray on 1st February next year. The set will include an English dub & subtitled Japanese track. I'd never heard of this one before, but the series apparently takes us to a near-future, after the Third World War has left the planet devastated, and follows the adventures of a number of the titular Needless - mutated humans who possess a range of super powers. One one level, that sounds a lot like s-CRY-ed to me - which wouldn't be a great show to be compared with - but I guess I'll just have to wait to find out just what it's like...
