Pain explains the reasons behind his actions to Naruto.Summary:After remembering all the information from the interrogation, Inoichi figures out that the real Pain must be somewhere high up so he tells the Konoha ninjas to search the surrounding area for places with high elevation. Meanwhile, Pain, through God Realm, starts telling his story to the incapacitated Naruto.Pain came from a small nation bordering the larger countries such as the Land of Fire (which Konoha belongs to). After many wars the great lands have stabilized, but Pain's home country was left in ruins. Pain explains that both he and Naruto have felt the pain of loss, and it is that pain that drove him to seek revenge and justice. Pain realizes that in seeking justice one breeds more revenge, and the cycle continues. Pain states that he wants to achieve peace in the world just like Naruto, but he realizes that the world of ninja is ruled by hate and people can never truly understand each other. Pain's words remind Naruto of a talk he and Jiraiya had a long time ago. In that talk Jiraiya noted that the root cause of conflict is people's inability to understand each other, but the wise old ninja can't think of a solution to that problem. Pain asks Naruto how he would deal with this problem, and Naruto doesn't know. Pain then presents his vision, which involves using the tailed beasts to create a super weapon that can destroy countries. Through fear and destruction, Pain hopes to achieve peace. Over time the peace might start to waver, but when the people use that weapon again they will remember the pain and peace will persist again.Nagato: Konan, would you be a dear and grab me some cookies? My hands are a little tied-up at the moment. Somewhere not too far away, Pain's real body, Nagato, is bound to a chakra transmission device and guarded by Konan. Konan warns Nagato not to overdo it when the Nagato spits out some blood, but Nagato states that he can see peace.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~This chapter confirms that Nagato is the real Pain, and the monologue confirms that he is one of those deluded villains who thinks that they are doing the right thing by imposing their will on the world. Nagato's back-story is pretty typical of those villains, and the loss of his family and friend, particularly Yahiko (now God Realm), probably drove Nagato to take this extreme position in order to achieve peace at any cost. I figured that Pain's real body would be either super powerful or sickly wheel-chair bound in terms of appearance, and looks like it's the latter. Nagato isn't in very good shape, but he's probably more powerful than he looks, so the Konoha ninjas will have to show up in force to take him and Konan down.Hopefully we are done with the monologue now. I'm guessing the next chapter will be dedicated to Inoichi and company trying to find Nagato's location.
